DPL Insurance Limited (DPL) collects personally identifiable information such as your name, email address and telephone number. We obtain all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. In handling your personal information, we comply with the Information Privacy Principles of the Privacy Act. You have the right under the Privacy Act to request access to, and request correction of, any of your personal information held.

We may use your personal information mainly for the following:

  1. To help you quickly find the right products and services;
  2. To help us create and develop the content on our website to make it more relevant to you; and
  3. To communicate with you or provide you with information about our products and services, and in some cases, the products and services of selected third parties.

DPL will not use information collected about you for any purposes other than those for which it was intended unless otherwise authorised by you. We may also give your information to and obtain it from others including business divisions of DPL and our suppliers, but only to the extent permitted by law.

From time to time DPL may need to obtain information regarding names and addresses of registered owners, vehicle information and history from NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi), to be used for the purpose of verifying ownership details of a vehicle. You have the right to notify Waka Kotahi if you do not wish to have your names and address made available under an authorisation. DPL holds an Authorisation from Waka Kotahi under section 241(1) of the Land Transport Act 1998.
